Primary Focus

Powder Coat Operator

Primary Function:

Operate manual and automated powder coating systems for the company’s prototype operations. We have 2 openings on 2nd and 3rd shift. 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am Mon-Fri.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and remove defective products
  • Mix solutions and fill tanks
  • Work to ensure that the inventory of powder and other related materials: filters, spare parts etc. are maintained to ensure that production needs are met.
  • Regulate the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens and work with the Maintenance department to ensure that ovens and paint equipment is properly serviced and maintained.
  • Check the flow and viscosity of the powder.
  • Check product for flaws, bubbles, or imperfections.
  • Establish and maintain company safety protocols.
  • Based on work load help to mask and rack parts prior to painting.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by ensuring materials are cleaned from ceiling and walls of booth, conveyor hooks or grid, and from spray heads, and hoses.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management and the Company.

Primary Function:

The CNC Press Brake Operator is responsible for safely, productively, and skillfully creating beautiful metal fabricated parts to print.  Daily preventive maintenance and cleaning is required on: the press brake, inspection equipment, computer equipment, and the surrounding area.   Proper maintenance ensures our equipment runs in top condition and to full capability every day and the production environment is organized and efficient. The primary responsibility of the CNC Press Brake Operator is to produce metal fabricated parts to customer print specifications using allotted standard times and processes. Hours are 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am M-F.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using inspection devices to inspect parts, according to print and product inspection plan
  • Using check fixtures to verify that the part is to print as required
  • Making small, mathematically calculated, angle corrections
  • Orienting the part correctly
  • Picking tooling, as identified in the CNC program, from tooling inventory
  • Loading tooling in the order identified in the CNC program

Primary Function: 

The primary responsibility of Quality Inspector is to maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results. The hours are Monday through Friday 3pm-11pm at NHRM.

Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Fulfill the role of Quality Engineer and Supervisor for Rapid Machine.  This is a hands-on position.  Ensure the quality of the parts produced at RAPID meet all customer expectations; quickly and effectively taking action when non-conformances are found.  Maintain the most recent interpretations of the quality system requirements and therefore ensure documented practices meet the true interpretation of the quality management system standards.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engineering:

  1. Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques
    1. Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues.
    2. Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
    3. Effectively communicate and reinforce RAPID’s commitment to quality improvement efforts
  2. Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes.  Review and analyze results.  Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
  3. Responsible for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective and preventive action. –  including response to customer SCAR’s.
  4. Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements as the voice of RAPID’s customers.
  5. Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  6. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including 6 sigma and Lean manufacturing.
  7. Determine and apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools.
  8. Determine and sponsor Quality Inspection tools and automation as appropriate

Supervision:

  1. Provide leadership to the Quality Control department across all three shifts. This would include but not be limited to;
    1. Adequate staffing levels to support manufacturing across all three shifts to minimize shop restraint.
    2. Cross train inspectors to perform multiple tasks and functions within the department.
    3. Hiring, terminations, establishing work hours, wage adjustments and performance reviews.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Internal – Regularly interact with Materials, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and all Manufacturing functions.
  • External – Regularly interact with all levels of customers and prospects.
  • Back up for Inspection Supervisors and the Director of Quality

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, prefer Manufacturing or Mechanical
  • Experience managing a quality management system (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100).
  • Solid mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)
  • Proficiency in GD&T.
  • Proficiency with analyzing processes and develop improvements
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Customer quality assurance experience.
  • Previous audit experience.
  • Proficiency in PPAP, FMEA, Cpk, Gauge R&R

Preferred Technical Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge of machining and sheet metal processes
  • Formal training and previous experience as a Lead Internal Auditor.
  • Project management experience.
  • Previous work experience in an organization that supplied large OEM’s.
  • CAD
