We use wire EDM machines to create tooling for prototypes that have complex shapes that cannot be formed with standard tooling. Some typical materials that Rapid Machining works with include aluminum, stainless steel, cold and hot rolled steel, brass, beryllium copper and much more! Our CNC driven process generates very tight tolerances and at the same time, producing a nice surface finish which reduces secondary finishing. Wire EDM is mostly used at Rapid Machining for tool making but is also a great option to generate flat patterns for any low volume complex prototype parts that are too thin to be laser cut.
